FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
1. How do I get from the Parade in the main Street to the Festival site?
A festival bus runs continously from the Visitor Information Centre to the festival site via the showgrounds Bourke Street entry and return for a gold coin donation Saturday and Sunday from 9am. You must have your festival entry wristband passes to go on the bus.
2. Do you have concessions on tickets?
There are no concessions on any tickets sold at the Australian Celtic Festival. School age children are free.
3. What time do the stalls open?
Stalls are open from 9am to 4.00pm on Saturday April 30 and 9.00am to 3.30pm Sunday May 1.
4. Is there disabled parking at the site?
There is disabled parking only for those with a government certified disabled parking certificate at the top of the hill. Otherwise there is a disabled drop off point, where disabled persons can be dropped off and the car to go down to the lower carpark.
5. Is there eftpos facilities at the site?
There is no eftpos facilities on site for cash out. Some stallholders do provide eftpos purchases.
6. Can we buy our evening event tickets at the door?
Tickets are only available at the door if they have not previously sold out. It is reccommended to buy tickets in advance to avoid dissappointment.
7. How do you get from the car park to the festival site?
There is a coutesy bus from the lower carpark up the hill to the festival site. The bus operates all day from the lower carpark to the festival site and return.
8. What is the weather like during the festival?
In early May Glen Innes experiences max temperatures of 16 degrees and minimum temperatures of 4 degrees on average. It is recommended that you bring your winter woolies for the cool eveings and a sun hat and sunscreen for the warm days.
9. If I am staying at the showgrounds how do I get to the festival site?
You can either;
Walk - ten minute walk to Standing Stones up Bourke Street, this walk does get quite steep toward the end and is not recommended for the elderly.
Bus - the festival bus runs continously from the Visitor Information Centre, via the Bourke street showground entry to the festival site and return for a gold coin donation from 9am Saturday and Sunday.
Car - you can drive to the festival up meade street and park at the lower carpark. You can then catch the courtesy bus from the lower carpark to the standing stones or simply walk up the hill.
