TYPES OF PERFORMERS?
The Australian Celtic Festival welcomes;
- Artists, solo, bands, groups
- Storytellers
- Dancers
- Pipebands
- Street Theatre
WHERE CAN YOU PERFORM?-
Once you have submitted your Expression of Interest (EOI) form - with a copy of your public liability insurance and have been accepted by the Australian Celtic Festival Committee, you may be required to perform at various venues;
- The primary venue is the Australian Standing Stones site (for 2 days of the festival).
- Night venues - pubs and clubs (organised by the Australian Celtic Festival Committee)
- Business houses
HOW TO APPLY?
Australian Celtic Festival accepts applications from May 26 to September 3, for the following years festival. The Expressions of Interest for the 2012 festival is available by going back to the home page and clicking on Performer Expression of Interest.
PERFORMER SELECTION CRITERIA FOR THE 2012 AUSTRALIAN CELTIC FESTIVAL
- Value for money ( artist should provide excellent return for investment. This includes availability for performances - both internal and external - with minimum extra outlay in production and accommodation costing).
- Suitability of act (the performance should be relevant to the year of presentation unless the act is considered to be a particular drawcard).
- Drawing power (consideration will be given to a performer that is proven to have the ability to attract extra patronage or allow beneficial on selling).
- Holding power ( a performer who is proven to maintain an audience will be granted selection ahead of a performer less popular).
- Recommendation upon viewing (a performer may be selected upon the recommendation of an entertainment subcommittee member or committee member upon viewing the performance. A performer may also be overlooked on the same basis).
- Professional standing (a performer may be selected solely on professional standing. However all performers are expected to meet a high level for consideration. This level is to be decided by the incumbent committee).
- Performers may be selected on a rotational basis (performers may be omitted from selection in order to maintain a fresh program as decided by the incumbent committee).
- Workability (a performer may have his or her offer to perform withdrawn should it be deemed by the incumbent committee that they are too demanding or difficult).
- The final selection (The Final selection will be made by the incumbent Committee of the Australian Celtic Festival and no further correspondance will be entered into).
