The Glenmore Highland dancers are an enthusiastic group of performers ranging in ages from 6-11 years. They dance for enjoyment and to share the Celtic spirit through the traditional highland dances and are in demand to dance at Glen Innes events (fetes and dinners) throughout the year. Each July, the Glenmore dancers hold their own Ceilidh for family and friends and thank the Moree Services Club for their support. Of course, the Glenmore dancers and their teacher, Mrs Timmins are always excited when Piper Rob O’Brien is able to provide fantastic Scottish piping to give a little extra tradition and flair to their performances. Rob’s children, Travis, Sarah, Sidney and Holly are also talented Celtic performers – dancing, piping and drumming!
It is with pride that the Glenmore dancers continue to dance at the Glen Innes Celtic festival since the group began performing at their favourite home festival some 25 years ago. In fact, the group as it evolves now has the children of some of the original dancers!
